Threaten Yourself With Change…

It’s so powerful to threaten yourself with something new.

Taking a leap off the pier into unknown waters is quite a wake-up call to your senses.
There’s something to learn from all this, with regards to your own self-improvement.   Give this a close read. You’re going to learn something new today.  This is a bit different than my usual topic but very helpful.

To Transcend Requires Discomfort
How many of you reading this are tired of just “getting by”? Tired of just EXISTING?  Or tired of something?

What motivates you to do something different?  Most of us have calluses around the parts of our life that are uncomfortable.

Even though the pain points still exist …Even though we’d feel better if we moved onto something that fit us more appropriately.

It goes against human nature to want to feel pain. But that’s exactly what you have to do to move yourself forward. It doesn’t even have to be life-threatening pain.

You might not have to quit your job, shave your head, and denounce bathing.

Maybe you just have to choose something simple like no longer eating food from a drive-thru ever again.

How To Start

You will be required to break from the old.  You will be required to pick a path and start.

That requires STARTING.  Starting is the primary ingredient of doing something different.

Don’t believe me?

For almost 15 years, I did nothing about trying to quit smoking.

On that first day of doing something, here’s what I did…

I wrote down all the reasons why I knew I had to make changes.  The next day, I looked over the reasons I’d written down – like protecting my children…Then I decided to do it.     I told myself each day that… I won’t smoke today – tomorrow I might change my mind but, not for today.

Each day I’d start that process again.

But that was the START!  And that led to the next thing.

This is VITAL to understand.

Life is a series of gravities.

You’re with the company you’re with…that has some gravity.

You’re with the relationships you have…that has some gravity.

Your habits are all gravities unto themselves.

To escape from these velosities you must change them for the better, you have to break out of an existing orbit.

You have to build up a fire in your internal engines to make a change.

And as you build up that fire, you’ve gotta set your sights on a star. You have to point in a direction, and not just plan to shake free.

Be Specific

The plans you make that promote change don’t have to be grand. But they DO need to be specific.

You don’t have to shoot for the moon. START with little changes. But they must be plans where you talk to yourself in terms of where you’re going, not where you’ve been.

Still using someone who has overcome a similar quest as an example.

“I want to quit smoking” was a lame banner for me.

Now compare that to…

“I want to improve my children’s chances of not getting lung cancer, have a cleaner home, to live longer & healthier”…  Thankfully, it’s been 18+ years since my last cigarette!

See that?

See the difference?

The second one is ultra specific, AND it emphasizes where i wanted to go, not where I’d been.

Always plan with a forward-facing goal.

What would you change if you knew it’d make your life better, but in a small way?

Here’s one that might fit you:

You want to have no debt on your credit card by the end of the year.

To that end, you have to “kick it up a notch” – start an online business, go back to school, and start to dig your heels in.

I mean really dig in and DO this!

To do that, you know you’re going to have to make changes that feel “ouchy,” but that will get you there.

It’s change. It’s not life threatening, but it’s somewhat painful at times (and equally rewarding).

It’s going towards a goal (debt-free card). Remember specificity.

It will hurt and require habit changes to accomplish. Yet at the same time, it’s not earth-shattering.

What kinds of goals can you see threatening yourself with over the next few months?

What would be the FIRST step you’d take? And how will that both build, and keep momentum?

My Suggestion:

I’ve got some great content coming your way so stay tuned.

I’m going to be sharing with you all varieties of content right here that focuses on how you can “escape velocity” by taking one of the most important steps in starting your own online business.

Hemp’s revival is seriously overdue!

What can’t hemp do?

Hemp’s Revival is Overdue!

It’s amazing what benefits hemp can provide us, problems it can help us overcome & and the misunderstandings hemp has survived, when it was only meant to help us thrive.

It traps carbon, replenishes the soil and preserves our health & requires zero herbicides or pesticides.

Not commonly known but, Hemp was planted around the Chernobyl site to successfully heal the land in the area.

So, what is causing the disconnect & misconceptions with Hemp & it’s surrounding propaganda? I think it’s simply because our leaders would be shamed to admit the deceptions that were bought into way back in the 1930’s. Worse yet, would be continuing on this same course and not making corrections…a paradigm is needed quickly!

Get hemp wise…It’s NOT the same as marijuana

Since I’ve recently been learning about the amazing, astounding and abundant uses, possibilities and benefits of Hemp I continually have a tough time containing & constructively controlling my responses to this highly controversial topic.

I implore you (my readers) to seek out, purchase, give & use hemp based products to create a HUGE DEMAND- SO MUCH THAT WE FORCE OUR GOVERNMENT to meet the needed supply! I am working on being able to supply you with websites & resources for just that purpose.

  • Hemp insulation alone could save so much energy & thereby reduce our carbon footprint immensely.
  • Hemp building materials trap carbon particles & reduce global warming.
  • Hemp farming rebuilds the topsoil & it’s nutrients.
  • Hemp clothing/material is much stronger & long lasting.
  • Hemp paper saves trees & use of the toxins used to make wood fiber paper.
  • Hemp oil is an excellent salve for our skin.
  • Hemp seeds provide the ONLY known complete protein source
  • Hemp cellulose can be used to create bio-plastics…
  • Bio fuels, twine, ropes, resins, non-toxic paints & textiles
  • There are so many more possibilities, whatever you’re in to look for a hemp alternative!

When & how will we grow wise about using hemp?
“It’s time we used our heads for more than hat racks!”

Are We Suffocating Earth With Plastic Bags?

About four years ago I decided to “go green” and buy reusable bags for hauling my groceries home in.  About the same time my grocery store started recycling plastic bags.  At first it took a little time to get used to bringing my reusable bags with me when I went shopping, but after I decided to start collecting plastic bags for recycling it only took me about a month for it to become an ingrained habit. Now my reusable bags go with me everywhere to make any purchase at every store because I keep them in my car.  If an item is too big for the bags I simply carry it out myself without a bag.

When I started realizing how many items we purchase that come in plastic bags I started thinking that maybe the plastic bags are suffocating the earth and contributing to global warming, as I believe it would have the same effect on the soil and the plants as to a child.  We’re suffocating Mother Earth!

Take stock, plastic bags are everywhere! Our TP, our bread, new socks and underwear, produce purchases, new bed linens, macaroni and cereal, frozen vegetables, tissue boxes, notebook paper… The list is endless!  Each month I collect and recycle a large bag crammed full of plastic bags I have collected and return for recycling.

Knowing that we have the knowledge, resources and technology to produce biodegradable plastic and have yet to convert our production to biodegradables is a disgrace to humanity!!  I will take a guess that the manufacturers of plastic bags fear that they will lose money (the root of all evil) in the process of converting production to biodegradable plastics.  Its a disgrace to have consumerism ruling our lives!

Hemp plants are an excellent source of byproducts to produce biodegradable plastics. At the same time, from the same plants, a myriad of other beneficial products could be produced. I am convinced that decriminalizing growing hemp plants in America could be the miracle that everyone is looking for to save the world from suffocating ourselves &; maybe reduce global warming?!? Just a thought!
