Can we change this fact?
Assuming that these factors need to be changed… apathy for certain does.
Regarding obesity, I seem to recall a time when a series of paintings of nude & bathing, pleasing plump -full figured women were popular. (sorry my memory fails me as to who the artist is/was).
Certain cultures also prefer their women to be ample.
Here in America the opposite is generally true. It seems that most advertising portrays slim, slender & chiseled images of what society & our culture deem as “sexy.”
For those of us with physical limitations & challenges those types of ads serve only to cause the range of feelings from hopelessness & hopelessness to inferiority & depression. They are designed to please & tease the male population without concern for the female group & those I refer to as differently abled… I digress here.
Anyway, my point here is that if you wish to do what you can to maintain your health & weight you have a plethora of programs & products at your fingertips.
If you’ve never heard of Restoration Biology this video will give you an overview…

Now, as far as the apathy in today’s youth…
An opinion is all I can offer. I think that the causes cover a broad range of topics…
- The corruption they see within the institutions designed to preserve & protect them.
- The types of sitcoms & movie genres they have for viewing options.
- The overuse of prescriptions (take a pill mentality of our culture).
- The disrespect for family caused by the breakdown of the family structure & the institution of marriage.
- Corporate corruption & greed.
- Too much free time on their hands.
I am not aware of effective programs to change this situation nor am I qualified as a psychologist to offer alternative outcomes.
It seems that humanity’s quest to develop tools, programs & methods to create a life of ease has bred a society such as ours where we don’t have to work hard for our food intake.
Eating has become the central focus of most of our activities. How can Americans have enough food to get obese when many other people are dying of starvation.
2/1/13..Revision…While the principles mentioned above are sound, I can no longer stand behind nor support the company and products spoken of here.
