Hand-picked flowers for Mom!

First, let me say Happy Mother’s Day to all of my fellow Peers, Role Models, Comrades in Arms, Warriors, & Angels A.K.A. Moms!

I found this online today in the Washington Post & thought I’d share it because it follows my thought patterns & beliefs…

“The driving force behind Mother’s Day was Anna Jarvis, who organized observances in Grafton, W.Va., and Philadelphia on May 10, 1908. As the annual celebration became popular around the country, Jarvis asked members of Congress to set aside a day to honor mothers. She finally succeeded in 1914, when Congress designated the second Sunday in May as “Mother’s Day.”

Obviously, I am happy & thankful to be a proud Mother & have a day to be celebrated & appreciated!

However, I have to agree with Anna Jarvis that even this symbol of all our dear moms is too commercialized as has our entire society.

Even the political process is controlled by money.   But, let’s not spoil this joyous day with talk of politics, I’ll come back to it another day!

Just do the simple things for your Mom today.  Trust me she’ll remember your handful of had-picked flowers, hand-made cards & secret meal preparations you did for her quicker than every super duper deluxe gizmo you may ever buy for her!

On top of that, you’ll help save on environmental waste & production of more STUFF that she’ll just have to dust & clean!

  1. Hi there, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar one and i was just curious if you get
a lot of spam feedback? If so how do you prevent it,
any plugin or anything you can advise? I get so much lately it’s driving me mad so any help is very much appreciated.

    • Juan, I do get a lot of spam. In fact yours was blocked as spam too. I use a plugin called Aksmet. They offer a free version & paid versions. I hope this helps. I just removed your spammy links.
      To your success,
      Lori
